KENNEL CLUB SCHEDULES OBEDIENCE CLASS
Mispillion Kennel Club will offer Obedience
Classes at a new training facility. Our new training
facility is in Milton, DE. All classes will be outdoors -

From Lewes-Rehoboth area - Rt 9 West - Turn left on Cool
class will be a beginnersí obedience class consisting of
basic obedience commands that are suitable for dogs of
any age. The course will give owners a good start in
training their puppies as well as covering all commands
necessary for older dogs to complete the Canine Good
Citizen title. The only age requirement is that puppies
must be at least four months old to take this class.
Kennel Club announces the Spring Obedience and Rally
for Obedience and Rally will begin on Saturday April
3, 2021 at 9:30 AM. As usual, the first class will
be for signups and evaluation. The instructions will
start the following week on Saturday April 10 to May
15, 2021. Class times will be assigned as a result
of the number and level of the resulting signups.
Classes will be limited to six students per class.
All requirements of the Dept. of Health governing
Covid-19 will apply. Masks are required to be worn.
Social distancing of 6 feet will apply. Hand
sanitizing will be available.

First class will be for sign up and
evaluation, 6 classes will follow and a CGC test

up-to-date veterinary records for the registration. All
dogs must have proof of a current rabies shot; a basic
set of vaccines is also recommended. Dog training
collars will be available for purchase. Mispillion
Kennel Club reserves the right to reject any dog that
shows aggressive tendencies.
Payment of $85
for each dog will be collected at the time of
registration. Payment must be in cash or a check made
payable to MKC, Inc. Sorry, no debit or credit cards are
accepted at this time.

Training Participant: Our training classes should be
fun for you and your best friend. You will be taught
different methods for achieving success with a major
focus on positive training methods. Here is what you
need to do in order to assure success for both of you:
Come prepared to train. Have on comfortable clothing
and shoes appropriate for fast walking and running.
Have plenty of water for you and your dog,
particularly on hot days.
Bring treats for your dog. Hotdogs cut into skinny
slices, cheese, puperoni's or any other soft food
that you can put in your pocket is needed. Bring
plenty! But make it small pieces. You will be
rewarding your dog, NOT feeding him/her dinner!
Check the class schedule for remarks about collars,
leashes and other particulars for the class that you

MKC Training Class Acknowledgement
All classes MKC Dog Training last for 6
weeks. We offer a wide range of canine training courses
with experienced instructors that pay special focus and
emphasis on building the long-term success of your
relationship with your canine companion. All classes
being offered are subject to change due to demand.
This course runs for six weeks and is
designed for new puppies between 10 weeks and 20 weeks
old. You and your puppy will learn socialization
skills and basic obedience commands. You will learn
how to train and care for your new puppy. Puppies should have the second shot
in the puppy inoculation series.
Beginners Obedience / Canine Good
This course runs for six weeks and is designed to
instruct you on how to teach your dog basic obedience
exercises to include, Heel/loose lead walking, Sit,
Down, Stay, Recall, Stand, Watch me, Out -- Drop it,
Move, Leave It, Meet & Greet, and is also to
demonstrate to dog owners how to teach basic obedience
commands to their dogs and learn the skills necessary to
make your dog a well-respected member of your family and
community. The ultimate goal is to prepare you and your
dog for the Canine Good Citizen Test. The CGC program
has been endorsed by the Delaware legislature and almost
all dog groups require that a dog pass the CGC test
before entering a therapy program. Pre-requisites:
All dogs over four months of age (purebred and mixed
breed) are eligible for this course. Dogs must have
up-to-date vaccines and rabies shot. Dogs must wear
either a fabric or chain slip (choke) collar and be on a
six-foot fabric or leather leash. No retractable
leashes will be permitted. Who can participate in CGC For

Advanced Beginners Obedience
Prerequisite: To participate in this class, the
dog must have completed a basic obedience class or know
the basic commands of sit, stay, down and come. The dog
must be able to walk on lead without pulling or
excessive corrections. Dogs cannot be dog or human
aggressive. Class will focus on establishing good
communication skills between the handler and dog. The
course will review the basic obedience commands with the
intent of developing their use on a more advanced skill
level. Use of hand signals will also be taught. New
exercises will be added as requested by participants to
make the class fun for both the handler and dog.
Class Description: This 6 week course is designed
to educate the novice handler or dog owner who is
interested in possibly showing their dog. You will learn
the basics of how to show your dog in the conformation
